Regretting to hear that Jane is ill and asking after her; saying she is returning to London on June 1 and inviting him to dine on the 2nd, noting that Jack Lindsay and David Gascogne will be of the party; noting that the weather has been heavenly and that they have been frequently dining in the garden; describing an incident involving Sitwell being talked into giving a Facade at the Opera Club, Oxford and reporting that an uninvited sub-editor of the undergraduate magazine Isis described her as "the doyenne of drawing-room letters!!!" Mentioning that Pavel sent her some books by Gaston Bachelard.

He lived in Berlin (1921-23) and Paris (1923-34) before moving to New York, where he lived with his partner Charles Henri Ford.
